For this Shop and the City we've traveled to Denmark, Copenhagen.
Where you'll find the magical shop Karrusella in a beautiful passage in the heart of Copenhagen. You can choose to enter the store through the regular door, but there's also a special door for their smallest customers too. Copenhagen is a city full of parks, great food and lots of playgrounds for children (and parents) to enjoy themselves. We spoke to Signe, the owner of Karrusella about her shop and her city:
How did you start your store?
"About 10 years ago I opened Karrusella. Actually the idea was to open a store full of good board games for children, but I quickly discovered that there was a whole world of other toys I wanted to display in my store. And then the playful universe of Karrusella came to life."
Describe your store:
"In the heart of Copenhagen, in a beautiful passage you will find Karrusella. We are surrounded by the most soulful buildings with fairytale decorations. The entrance to our store is also a bit different from the others: you can either take the normal sized door or the small one. Karrusella is filled with the
best for newborns, toddlers and juniors."
Why should people visit Copenhagen?
"It’s not just a fairytale in Copenhagen, as in a H.C. Andersen story, it’s much more
than that! Copenhagen has a soul. The old buildings speak, they say. You can
easily find a spot in one of the green parks, see some culture or eat delicious food
all over the city. Children are very welcome and there are a lot of playgrounds where children can burn some energy."
